Proverbs 12:17 An hones witness tells the truth, but a dishonest witness tells lies. (NCV)

What is your gauge for testing what is truth and what is not? What is your measuring stick for testing what is right and what is wrong? The world is full of lies, false truths, and just plain made up stories. The only true way to gauge the truth is to test it against scripture. God gave us His truth in scripture for us to use in testing for the truth in everyday life. If we see or hear something that we are not sure to be the truth, then we need to search His Word and find if it is the truth. Proverbs 12:19 Truth will continue forever, but lies are only for a moment. (NCV) Some of Satan's biggest lies are simple to discount, but only if you take the time to find out for yourself. Otherwise, you can fall victim to Satan's scheming and before you know it the truth is no longer black and white, but gray. Proverbs 12:20 Those who plan evil are full of lies, but those who plan peace are happy. (NCV)
